Ross Lynch Confirms He’s Married at Heartland Netflix Premiere
Ross Lynch confirmed he is married while promoting his new Netflix film Heartland in New York on Thursday, Nov. 5. The 30-year-old actor and musician wore a gold wedding band on the red carpet and told PEOPLE he is protecting his wife’s preference for privacy.
“Yes, yes I am,” Lynch said when asked if he is married, according to PEOPLE’s exclusive coverage (also carried by Yahoo). “I’m not trying to shy away from that by any means, but I am trying to, you know, my wife’s not very fond of celebrity. So I am trying to be sensitive towards that and respectful to her. But everything’s going well.”
Page Six and Just Jared reported the same confirmation from the Metrograph premiere event.
Why won’t Ross Lynch name his wife?
Lynch did not share his spouse’s name or a wedding date in the PEOPLE interview. He framed the choice as respect for someone who dislikes celebrity attention, not as an attempt to hide the marriage itself. Page Six noted he has kept his romantic life mostly private for years, with previously confirmed relationships including Jaz Sinclair (about 2018–2022) and Courtney Eaton earlier in his career.
Fans had already speculated after Lynch returned to Instagram on June 28 following a roughly yearlong break. In a carousel captioned “Been a minute, what did I miss?” a follower pointed to a ring emoji; Lynch replied “hahaha A LOT” with a shushing emoji, PEOPLE and Page Six reported. An Aug. 21 Instagram post also appeared to show him wearing a gold band at a brunch table, PEOPLE said.
What is Heartland, and when does it stream?
Heartland marks Lynch’s first major acting role since 2020, aside from starring in Troye Sivan’s 2023 “Look at You” music video, Page Six reported. In recent years he has focused on music with his brother Rocky Lynch in The Driver Era.
In the film, Lynch plays Jace Jacobs, whom he described to PEOPLE as a “lost soul” who “loves celebrity.” Jessica Chastain stars as Misty Jones, a former country star who leaves seclusion to investigate her niece’s disappearance and confronts the darker side of Nashville, per the film’s synopsis cited by PEOPLE. The cast also includes Garrett Hedlund, Paul Sparks, John Hawkes and Jennifer Nettles.
Lynch told PEOPLE he was “excited to be acting again” and found the woman-led script compelling. He said working with Chastain felt reassuring once he warmed up — she would give him “this nod of approval.”
Heartland begins streaming on Netflix on Friday, Nov. 13.
How is Lynch describing this chapter of his life?
Beyond the marriage news, Lynch told PEOPLE that focusing on his private life “has been feeling really gratifying,” while adding he is “definitely excited about the future prospects” as an actor. The premiere put him back in a Hollywood spotlight he has partly stepped away from while building The Driver Era and keeping his relationship offline.
